Parent Tips During Virtual Learning:

• Support your child in choosing one designated, quiet workspace with a work surface, chair, and adequate lighting (ex. desk, kitchen table). Clear that space of distracting materials.  Keep all learning materials and technology at that designated area.
• To avoid distractions, please ask siblings or others to refrain from joining virtual lessons (pets included!).
• Make it part of your child’s daily routine to ensure that your s/he is prepared and organized the next day.
• Give your child space to engage in learning with his or her classroom. While it may feel natural to be in close physical proximity to your child, it is important that your child is given room to learn with peers and teachers. 
• We ask that parents allow children to do their own work.  We expect their completed assignments to reflect what  they are able to do independently. There is value in allowing children to work through struggles and make mistakes.  In this way, we as teachers know how to steer our instruction and to support them best.
• Please contact us with any questions or concerns that arise during virtual learning.  Students will be given opportunities to ask questions while in our classes, and parents may contact teachers during posted office hours.  Parents are also encouraged to email teachers.
